Bahrain International Airport Against Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Supporting global efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19, Bahrain International Airport (BIA) has implemented all recommended precautionary measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of passengers and staff, and the protection of public health in the Kingdom. While we advise all passengers to avoid non-essential travel, BIA is still operating a limited number of flights to and from certain destinations. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines to confirm the status of their flights in advance. In compliance with regulations issued by Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs, we are welcoming back transit passengers through Bahrain International Airport. Entry into Bahrain remains restricted to nationals and residents, and travelers holding a letter of prior permission to enter.

In line with directives from the Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities, we are screening all passengers and airline staff on arrival and regularly disinfecting all facilities used by airport users. This disinfection program is in addition to general cleaning and employs chemicals that specifically target COVID-19. All biohazardous waste is segregated and sent to the Bahrain Waste Treatment Plant for disposal.

Meet and Greet services and lounges are temporarily unavailable, although core airport facilities are still operational, including Bahrain Duty-Free, food and beverage outlets, ATMs, foreign exchange facilities, and Car Park A, as well as car rental and taxi services. Cargo services are also still operational.

We are working closely with airlines, service partners, and the authorities to ensure BIA is ready to resume regular operations once it is safe to do so. We thank you for your understanding and support during this challenging time.

Stay safe, stay home, stay connected.
