New Passenger Terminal Building

Bahrain Airport Company signs F&B concession agreement with Crêpafé

Crêpafé, a Bahraini developed franchise concept, will operate a food and beverage (F&B) outlet at Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) new Passenger Terminal Building, adding to the new facility’s eclectic mix of dining options. Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Executive Officer, Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah signed the five-year concession agreement

alongside Crêpafé Director, Dr. Zakareya Hejres in the presence of Crêpafé Manager Biju Joseph and members of the BAC commercial team.

Mr. Al Binfalah said: “One of our most important goals for the new terminal is to deliver an exceptional travel experience. Airports have grown to become much more than just waiting areas for the next flight. They also serve as important dining destinations. To meet the demand for more variety, F&B units with a total area of 899 sqm are located in the Arrivals and Departures areas of the new terminal. Visitors will enjoy the well-considered mix of options, including Crêpafé. We are proud of our association with a home grown brand and look forward to working alongside our partners to ensure passengers’ journeys are comfortable, convenient, and hassle-free.”

Dr. Zakareya said: “With up to 14 million passengers from around the globe traveling thorough the new terminal each year, having an equally diverse selection of F&B options is important. Although Crêpafé’s product offering is mainly based on crepes, it includes tastes and flavors from all over the world, which we hope will make visitors feel right at home in the Kingdom. We are pleased to become a part of the airport community and look forward to matching the high levels of service BIA is known for.”

Crêpafé serves a range of sweet and savory crêpes, pancakes, waffles, and omelets as well as its own blend of coffee and specialty drinks. It will be located in the Departures Area of the new terminal, before check-in. Alongside leading international F&B brands, the new Passenger Terminal Building will house several local favorites, ensuring all customers, even transit passengers, can experience a taste of Bahraini hospitality.

The new facility will be more than four times larger than the current airport, offering expanded passenger and cargo capacities, and world-class facilities and commercial outlets. The new terminal was designed with passengers’ journeys in mind to ensure they can traverse the Arrivals and Departures areas more quickly than at any other regional airport. BAC is confident that the new terminal’s boutique design and hospitable workforce will reinforce BIA’s reputation as a friendly and efficient airport at the heart of the Gulf.
