Bahrain Air the first privately owned national carrier of Bahrain with affordable fares in both premium and economy classes, yesterday announced the launch of its maiden flight to Baghdad.

Baghdad is the airline’s 18th destination in the region, which will be followed by Al Najaf Al Ashraf on September 17, 2009. Bahrain Air Managing Director Ibrahim Al Hamar said, adding that the total number of destinations the airline is flying will hit 24 by the end of this year.

Bahrain – Baghdad ticket price will be between BD 180 and BD 220. The airline is bullish on the Bahrain – Baghdad route, especially because of the limited number of alternatives offered by other airlines in the Gulf.
