Civil Aviation Affairs Undersecretary, Captain Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Quood, revealed this yesterday at ceremony held to welcome the inaugural flight by Armavia, the national airlines of Armenia.  The airline has introduced two flights from Yeravan to the Kingdom every week.  It is expected to rise to four in the near future.

Earlier in the morning, Captain Al Quood welcomed the first flight from Yerevan along with officials from the civil aviation and members of the local Armenian community.

Mikael Baghbasarian, President of Armavia, expressed hope that this would be the start of a long friendship.  With this sector now opening up, he hoped there would be an increase in the flow of investments in both directions.

He explained that new airlines would surely serve the Bahraini economy, noting that it would help in employing not less than six Bahraini employees.  The launch of this service will also benefit the tiny Armenian community numbering 50 to fly directly to Yerevan.
